ARTIST STATEMENT
For this
assignment, my topic is based on media artist that I choose which is Aizuddin
Ismail. His a famous wedding photographer in Malaysia and he also a principal
photographer for danialhaikalstudio. The reason why I’m choose him as my media
artist that inspired myself is because the way he play around and edit the
colours and lights of the photos, the angle of the subject and the way he
composed the subject matter for get the great photos. Most of his wedding photos
are look like vintage style and I do like it. After consult with the lecturer, I
decided to make a simple screen design and i try to make it look like vintage by
edited “Nashville” filter using photoshop.
Flowers is
the first thing that had came to my mind because I want the subject that
represent the meaning of “don’t judge a book by its cover”. People always judge
someone by looking the way he/she dress
up, the way he/she treat people, always think negative about first impression
of someone or something and other things while in themselves, they’re much
better and more pure than their external. That’s the reason why I put the title as “SOUL”.
The quote by Sophia Loren “Beauty is how you feel inside and it reflect in your
eyes. It’s not something physical” because I think that quote is quite strong
to represent the meaning of “simple but yet still look beautiful” or “don’t
judge a book by its cover”. I’m using Bougainvillea
as my subject is to relate the meaning that I want to highlight. It looks cheap
and not so beautiful like other flowers but yet it’s still look beautiful with
the variety of colours.
