ARTIST STATEMENT

For this artwork, I’m using bouquet of tulips as a main subject. The reason why I’m using tulips because I want to replace it with roses. Roses is too mainstream as a symbol of love. Based on my researched, the Europian and the American sometimes used a tulip to represent a meaning of true love. I’m using the colour red for the tulips to represent the colour of love. True love. I also put a text “I CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT YOU” because I want to related it with the question that I asked for my survey which is the question is “Type of the person that you admire?” and most of them choosed understanding and also for the question “Emotion/Feelings when you be loved” and most of them choosed appreciated. When you understand people that you love and you appreciate their presence in your life, you’ll always think about him/her everytime and everywhere. What he/she doing now, are they wealth and many questions that are playing in your mind.

ARTIST STATEMENT

For this artwork which is based on my persona and survey from target audience I tried to used concept through visual expression which is it looks like depressed feeling and sadness when you know that someone hates you or you being hated by someone or by a group of your members. It feels sucks right?. The eyebrow indicates that there is sense of arrogant in people who have a hatred of others. The tears shows that a sadness of a person that being hated. The reason why I’m not create a mouth because for me we can just see the human expressions or feelings by just looking at their eyes. I’m used some part of brush tools and some colours to represent other feelings when being hated by someone. Such as, red represent for angry feelings. Plus, the background white, grey and black to represent the colour of hatred. The more you hate someone, the more your heart become dirty and “black heart”.
