ARTIST
STATEMENT
My title for the first
assignment, “Visual Expression” is Rejected. So many things I can describe as
“rejected” such as when someone was rejected by the person he/she loves before,
when the boss rejected proposal of his/her employee in front of other staff and also when
artworks of student was rejected by the lecturer. It feels bad right? We will
feel disappointed, upset, angry, depressed and other negative feelings. The
message that I want to tell is we have to be strong, persevere and determined
even tough we faced a lot of problems and rejected in daily life.
ARTWORK
TREATEMENT
For my artwork, I used
materials such as nails, wooden board, Bostik glue, balloon, a row of long
wooden light, shalex and small brush. First thing, I booked a 10x10 inch from
wooden as the base for my artwork. Second step, I bought a lot of nails. Random
size which is I used small, medium, and longer nails. I glue the nails with Bostik
glue on wooden board and I put it on random place. After finished it, I shalex
on the wooden board using small brush. Next step, I cutted a bit a row of long
wooden light as a pole to attach the balloon and then I hang the ballon in the
pier. Next, I put a pieces of balloon that has exploded on the part of the
nail. So overall, my artwork is about the feelings when we rejected. The nails
represented as a subject or the person those who reject our works, love or
something else. I used a balloon to represented as the heart and the red of
balloon colour as a colour of the heart. While I used the pieces of balloon
that has exploded to show that is apparently how we feel when we are rejected.
The hanging red balloon represented as the heart or feelings of person will be
rejected. I just put the red balloon swinging at the corner of wooden board to
show nervousness and rumbling when a condition that is likely we will be
rejected.
