Concept Board
My title for this artwork is “INSTAGRAM”. Basically, for my
concept board I’m using the photos of my Instagram’s friend and some people
that I follow (@azlanzarul, @amirulnaaami, @aifaaredzuan and @zulluey) and I make it
as the collage photos. I choose the type of photos usually can get on
the instagram which is like the nature, the building, the environment and the
people. The font that I’m used is pacific.
Artist Statement
I choose Instagram as my subject matter/topic for statistical data available online. We’re required to develop the understanding of our
chosen topic by doing more in-depth ‘design, art and interactive’ related
research for our artwork idea developments.
So basically, after I done with searched the data of
Instagram, I found it there is lack of specific data of Instagram on the
internet. What I mean is, for example if I wanted to search how many users
use/upload photos on Instagram per day or what kind of filters that people or
“instagrammers” most used, there is no specific statistical data. What I found
is the general data of Instagram. So I decided to picked up the general data of
Instagram which is the most popular types of photos on Instagram.
Basically for the concept of my artwork is “look, choose and
take a photo”. I provide 10 categories of most popular types of photos on
Instagram which is each of the categories got 4 photos on it and I display it
on the table. The interactive part is, I’ll call one by one people in my class
to come and take a look what categories their like and they need to pick up or
choose one of the categories and then I’ll take a photo of them and the category
that their selected by using a Polaroid. After that, the photo that i taken
I’ll affix on the mounting board/ foam board which is the mounting board/foam
board is actually for my own data. The step will keep repeat until all the
people have done with it. So that, I’ll get my own data of the most popular
types of photos on Instagram that I collect in the class and I’ll compare it
with the general data most popular types of photos on Instagram on internet.
The purpose of my artwork is to compare the data that I
collect in the class with the data on internet. Furthermore, I can know what
kind of categories or types of photos on Instagram that each of my friend in
class most like.
